my old man used to have the trooper duty
3 door
i think it had a 3ltr turbo diesel engine in it (unsure of size but i know it was a diesel)
he got rid of it for a td5 disco cos he said it was bad for mpg
can anyone tell me the mpg for such a car?

Mine is a 3.1 td duty SWB . 26 to 28 miles to the gall usually .
Depends what type of roads you drive on really . Low gear windy ones tend to use more fuel as does pushing it at 70 mph+

sorry can't help i only have a 2.8td i get about 30 to the gal.like m thomas said depends what type of road you are on and how heavy your right foot is
-
ok sounds like the mpg on mine but id ont know the mpg of a td5
no they aint lead foot drivers either, occasional low box i imagine pulling the cattle box out of their drive but other than not much.
hmm

The £1 a day extra I spend on fuel is saved by not having to spend on any spare parts
