Title: 2" lift - which springs/shocks to trust

I'm looking at a 2" lift for my 300Tdi auto disco 1 but I've been reading quite a bit on here and other forums about vehicles that start to sag very quickly. So, which manufacturers parts can I really trust? Terrafirma seem to be getting some stick and Old man Emu, if I could find the cash, would be very good. What else???

full set up was 234 quid and when they go I will be fitting the same again ;)

I know. That's what my heart is saying but my head is telling me it's gonna cost twice as much. And that's a lot of extra cash that could towards new tyres, a CB, snorkle etc.......

Post by: stuntman on April 10, 2008, 08:02:39: I know there have been some bad reports of Bearmach however I fitted mine around 6 months ago, and after 12k miles and alot of greenlanes and towing I've had no probs and no sagging.

There are the HD Blues, and I'm in the process of fitting a second set of shocks front and back, mainly because I can ;), the springs cost me about Â£80 unused second hand from a forum. I'd defo use them again. Just be sure you put them on the right way round :?

They don't just flog you the springs, they ask what kit you have on the vehicle i.e. winch etc and each spring comes marked for the correct corner, not the cheapest at about Â£50 per spring and Â£40 per shocker (prices could be a bit old) but I have never had to replace them or moan about the quality.

i'll go along with the above,

trust me i know, it cost me Â£210 to get my spring situation sorted out, and a change of garage as well!

<<<<<<<<< look at my disco here on the left, can u see how it is lower at the back , and thats after 80 mile...

If you speak to a Old Man Emu dealer (not a stockist ;)) they will ask you lots of questions about your truck and make sure (from their extensive stock) that you get the correct spring and damper combination that would suit your truck exactly.
There's one particular dealer which promise to change any spring/damper if the vehicle doesn't sit level/rides to hard/soft and so on.
Spend the extra and get the best
