I've had problems too with paddocks. Normaly they are good. I only have 3 on my 3.9 efi clasic.

Do you have air con?

Rich

Theres no need to dance, there are 2 reasons I dislike that design.

1 You have to remove 3 belts just to change one of them (guess which one I've had problems with :( )

2 If the watter pump belt breaks you have no warning on those 4 belt V8s where as engines with one belt for water and alternator if it breaks then the red light comes on giving you some warning rather than a few minuets latter when the engine temperature starts to soar.

I lied, I've remembered a third

3 by the time you've taken the slack out of the PAS belt then theri is bearly enough adjustment on the alterator with new belts and old belts there is none left.

:? So to get the correct belt's am I going to have to go to landrover ? I've got the three coming from paddock's but god knows what use they are going to be    I know what you mean clbarclay. It was a hell of a potch just to get the old ones off    But thank's for having four also hairy arse even if it is only a 3.5

http://www.gates.com/part_locator/index.cfm?location_id=3002 hows that for service

Would seem the link does not save the details but it says 4 belts and gives Gates part no.s

clbarclay... only kidding
If you dislike the v belts that much why not convert them to the multi v   Thought about it but other things took priority, plus I got outbid on the complete set on e-bay

Just for reference it lists the same belts/part no.s for 3.5 and 3.9 and 2 of the belts are the same part no.

thanks for the link hairy   Look's as tho I've got two the same and one slightly diffrent. No alternator belt by the look of thing's cos that's alot smaller   I'll check tomorrow and let you know. Oh and the rear brake pads look wrong to cos there's nowhere for the pins to go through. Look's as tho they got the water hoses right

No worrie
Pins dont go through   they just hold the spring clips looks silly till you have a look on the car but they have a taper/ radius to match the caliper.
You'll see when you take the wheel off
It seems that they are better over the counter than mail order as they always spot on when I go there  :?

Ok update peep's   Hoses changed, havnt had chance to look at pads yet   Belt's Hmmmmmm   Changed fan belt and power steering belt but now the power steering seem's alot heavier than it was before I changed the belt ?????? Belt not slipping now mind so no sudden loss of power just alot less than I had before,( roundabout's are now not so scary with a sudden loss of steering   ) But I've kinda caused another problem   I had to remove the dizzy cap to get to the hoses behind that i had to change and now it wont go on properly   If I remove the rotor arm it goes on fine, but with the arm in place the cap wont sit on the dizzy properly ?? The arm is on fine and as far down the spindle as it will go. I've managed to force the clips back on the cap and the engine run's but with a lack of power and the cap is moving slightly with the engine running and not flush with the dizzy body it's as if the cap shrunk while it was off the car. I've had to run it to work today but i should imagine the rotor arm is chewing it's way through the cap. There is no obvious reason why it wont go on as it came off ok and the actual dizzy hasn't been touched. help please

It happens on the Lucas dizzy, when you pull the arm off the centre of the dizzy pulla out a little too :(

It's bust then though
