Title: 2.5N/A
Post by: Guy90 on March 07, 2004, 19:10:11
Having bought a new 2.5N/A from Turners it seems to haver a diffrent sump/breather set up to the one I have taken out. The one that was in has a pipe extending from the sump. A hose fits to this and runs up to the breather. This set up doesn't appear in any parts book.

Turners have sent a engine with no pipe leading off the sump which fits the parts manual

Although 2.5N/A is a 12J mine is marked an 11J.

Any explanations gratefully received.

Guy

12J should be the right engine - Turners wouldnt make a mistake - unlike them

10J I think was the previous 2.25 diesel , so 11J ?????  sherpa van?

dunno m8

I take it that u are fitting it anyway?

Dave,

They sent the right one. I seem to have the wrong one. Mine's the 11J. Must be Sherpa or Freight Rover. I'm going to keep my sump and bolt it to their engine. Then the breather will fit as well.

Title: Land Rover World

Hi, if you have Land Rover World, and turn to page 192, it shows a picture of a mint 2.5 nad. On close inspection, it apears that the breather comes up from the sump via a tee piece. It certanly isnt the same as my 12j. I dont know if this helps, but maybe it was a military conversion?????
