Title: Off Road - After Care
Post by: Kenny on March 03, 2004, 18:28:21
Well I feel that I've been neglecting the car after my off road trips. Apart from the obvious repairs what after-care would you all recommend such as greasing UJ's and so on.

Cheers

Damian

I like to give my defender a complete pressure wash of the underside, try to get rid of mud etc... Apparently a chassis takes 2 hours to dry in normal conditions, but with mus on, it can take upto 2 weeks. Thats a long time for rust to start forming, and I cant afford a new chassis just yet.

If you are going to a known grinding-paste venue, (like Tixover) I would recommend cleaning your wheel bearings..  I always give it a good under-chassis wash, check the oil for any signs of contamination.
