Title: Source of PWDA valve for 110 brakes?
Post by: ringo on December 07, 2008, 15:20:32
Hi,

My 110 failed its MOT big time on the brakes - i changed the whole lot and still they were rubbish. In desperation i took it to a garage who diagnosed the fault as being a clogged up Spliter valve.

Basically, the back brakes werent working at all. The guy in the garage is a synpathetic lad, so he took off the valve, cleaned it and this fixed the problem.

However, the symptoms are coming back intermittently - so its time to do the job properly and buy a new valve.

Investigations have found that this valve could be a "combination" or  "Pressure differential warning actuator valve" (PWDA). Looking at the landy, i think its a PWDA valve.

So my question is, do i have to go to land rover for this part or has anyone sourced one from elsewhere (and hence cheaper) ?

Anyone got a part number?

A quick google showed this:

http://www.davidsonandmcmillan.co.uk/land-rover-part-number.php?partno=NRC7871 (http://www.davidsonandmcmillan.co.uk/land-rover-part-number.php?partno=NRC7871) but im not sure if thats right...

Appreciate any pointers

Thanks

Ringo
