I'll be in the market for a compressor soon, can anyone offer any assistance in choosing correctly, please.
It's got to be capable of running;
Drills
Ratchets
Cut-off saw
Tyre inflator
Impact gun (possibly)
Spray gun??
What sort of air-delivery do I need?
Is it coupled to the receiver tank size?
Is a 50litre tank sufficent, or should I be looking for a 100litre?
Thanks

Richard
mine has a 150litre reciever, a 3hp single phase motor and i believe delivers 11-14cfm.
I use all air tools with mine , including a sandblast gun which uses massive volumes of air.

Been looking at the specifications & prices at 'Machine Mart' (http://www.machinemart.co.uk/)
Saw this one that was a 'Practical Classics' Best Buy (http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=000111455&r=2007&g=102) in a recent issue.
But the price!!
(might have to investigate the local 'Free-Ads' & E-Bay)

I would definately go for the larger reciever - otherwise the motor will be running all the time trying to keep up!
try here - these look reasonable

Thanks Dave, I'll have a browse on there later

If you don't need portability look at their professional line - you get a bigger receiver, a better spec'd motor and an extra 2cfm for the same money (and only forgo portability and wheels). I'll bet it will last a lot longer too.
