found this in a thread about rollcage specs on another forum & how some people can overengineer,
hmmm built like the forth bridge sounds good now yee haaa (http://www.olrg.org.uk/daan_off/1.html)
-
Got me worried now :? :?
Must strengthen mine!!!!
-
Impressive lack of damage to the cabin.
Impressive tumble too!
-
Wow!
Pressing the brakes after the front had gone over wasn't doing a deal.
Where and who was that Mikee?
-
Nasty
That's at Tixover, One of the photos has GUY110 on it. :)

I thought it was going to roll the other way and crush the Disco at bottom right!
-
thats dan schroders <sp> & AFAIK it was at tixover earlyer this year,
i dont know him personally but my mates does & from what ive been told that motor is as he put it the most thought out challenge truck he has seen,
body moded to allow wheels to come up through where the wheel boxes are atc, roof lowered by removing the straight bit before the curve, central winch set up
-
Its nice to see a truck you can get ideas from
-
Well spotted that man!
I didn't see Guy.
I've done that one :)
Not like that though.
-
Thats bad, cage did a cracking job. Dont think the outcome would have been nice otherwise.
Has anyone driven that ? Is it usualy driveable?
-
I've driven it a few times... but it has changed a lot over the years, so it is difficult to say exactly what the conditions would have been like.
I beieve they have all been graded now to improve things.
-
The pictures are deceiving. There was a ledge that you have to get over which causes the problems. Hasn't it been graded since then?

Tim has if memory serves at the first burthday bash
-
Ledges when topping a climb are scary. I had my front wheels about 6-7 foot off the deck at Kirton this summer. I normally take it slow but it looked as if it needed some hammer. Landed ok ...then trickled it up.
My mates, one in a Jimny and one in a 110, just crawled up it!
I went and emptied my shorts!
-
Yeah, but tim did it with far more grace and style :)
-
That was mad!! on pic 2 i saw the front lift and thought 'blooody hell don't go over' even tho i knew it would, its one of those strange instances when you know whats going to happen but think you try to WISH it not to anyway!! :?
-
   OH my god
-
i See mr Cobley there as well, was it on one of the lro days?
Their was a day at our local trial where their was a ledge exactly the same and it just depended on how u took it to weather u lifted the front off the ground or got over it, out 30 vehicle that did it, only one got totally over it and then then the last vehicle that went did the same nearly but it was on the limit and came back down,

ive driven that hill plenty times and yes it does change pays to take a look first just in case edd cobley has been out with his digger again :D
-
I see that he also has one of those cool disc-handbrakes on that motor as well!
I was there that day and remember the incident - recall thinking that he rolled like that and didnt even smash a headlight!!!
That hill changes daily, can be a dangerous ole climb that one - many have gone down it only to find the back lifting off the ground when the front finds a hole to dig into. OO'er
-
not another one
just as i thought my balls were getting bigger
mike
-
Check this one out, he didn't have a roll over bar!!!

Matt
Sorry didn't realise it was in another post!! My bad
-
hell, now that is why i think you are just bloody stupid to do any off-roading in a sorft top woth no roll bar, or any sort of roof for tat matter, i know it was one of the first things i put on and even when i just roled it sideways it saved me so much damage.
Was the person inside ok?
