Title: Rear Axle Shock Mount
Post by: feenix on October 08, 2007, 23:56:35
has, er... fallen off   Is this common on Discos?  The mount looks paper thin along one side (rust?), the other has just fatigued through.  Axle is pretty rusty, is there a chance of welding on a new mount if they are available? If not I guess I'll need another casing and spend some time swapping the bits over or just chance a breakers axle. :(

Not 100% sure but try Paddocks 08454 584499 (UK local rate)

They are normally good. If not it will be a call to an inderpendant specialist.

I use Rockingham Land Rovers 01536 770078

I hope this helps

Check the state of all the other axle brackets as they are likely to suffer the same fate with more severe consequences.

If one mount has rusted through then I would check the whole of the axle casing carefully, the spring mounts will probably be rotten too.
