Title: HELP needed with citroen/peugeot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: aaron on March 10, 2010, 17:36:48
Hi guys need some help as my citroen berlingo 1.9d wont start! Was fine this morning, went to it this afternoon and nothing. It just flashes up 'ECO-MODE' on the dash!
It turns over nice and strong and stinks of fuel at the tail pipe, but will not even attempt to fire no matter how much heat i give it.
Any one have any ideas as to what ECO-MODE means???
Many thanks.

France forgot how to make great cars since the demise of the Citroen 2CV and DS  :D

It's a certainly a true ECO-MODE, zero fuel consumption and zero emissions only the French would come up with renaming an 'engine failure' lamp to EC0-MODE.

Had a similar problem with a Citroen a few years ago. a quick word with a local none franchised outfit,
the answer.
 Try a tow start.
Hung the thing on the back of the Disco, and it started easily, and has continued to do so ever since.
Never did figure out what the original problem was, but from what I was told, it's not unusual, and the tow start thing often clears it.
