Title: Welding a U shape on a Spring
Post by: baz2236 on June 27, 2008, 19:08:19
Hi people could anyone tell me if you can weld to a Spring my springs have started to slide away or Splayed as the MOT man put it, What I want todo is weld on a U shaped bracket so it keeps the springs straight, the orginal spring did have one but it is bolted in place I would like to weld it in place.

Thanks in advance.

I have fitted add a leaf springs and on the rear when fitting them I removed the bottom spring in the pack witch had the U shape bracket to keep the springs aligned thats why I have this problem. what about 1 of them Clips that wrap around the spring like what on the front if I could get it tight enough.
