Title: Clutch change on a 2.8 TD trooper
Post by: tjsj on August 30, 2007, 21:43:29
Is there anything I need to know about changing a clutch on one of these? I have done one on a Disco but not an Isuzu yet. I was going to take the engine out to do it but what would you guys recommend? I'm getting a 3 piece clutch kit, will I need anything else??
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Personaly i prefer to drop the gearbox using a hand winch on a scaffold bar supported on the dash and on a small step ladder in the boot (got a pic some where) With the 2.8 i dont believe there is too much wiring to disconect in the engine bay so may be as easy to remove the engine if you have a hoist/lift. As far as im aware there is nothing different about the 2.8 clutch, its only the 3.2 clutch that is different from any other (its a pull type)
If your still not sure ask here http://www.itocuk.co.uk/forums/index.php

Hi, I'm having major trouble removing the engine from my Isuzu. The engine seems to be fouling on the axle and it doesn't seem to have enough room to move from the gearbox and forward to be removed. Has anyone has this problem before? how do you think I can get around it?
Cheers
