hi, a work mate has got a L322 and when he jacks it up as per handbook the body lifts but he can't get the jack to go high enough to lift wheels clear of the ground with either the jack that comes with the car or a trolley jack is there a way of lifting so wheels come of the ground without using a 4 post lift
cheers gordon

If you have a trolley jack just put it under the axle the side you want to lift and jack away.

cheers will let him know tomorrow

Er....the standard jack works fine, make sure he has followed the instructions. Keys NOT in the ignition, low range selected, wheels chocked and straight.....
-
you can also strap the axle to a rigid place that can take the load so that the springs are held static. Use ratchet straps.
cheers for that i will let him know

Not being funny, but it's independent suspension, I've owned 4 L322's and NEVER had a problem jacking them up with the standard jack, using the correct procedure as per the manual. Don't strap it up and it's not recommended to use a trolley jack unless you know exactly where to jack.

thats ok, where is the best place to jack from using a trolley jack as the standard one is knacked after the collapse

If you look under the struts, you should be able to see somewhere the trolley 'cup' will seat, but be aware that you are jacking the car in a way it is not expecting - by compressing the suspension. Ensure the keys are out of the vehicle and it is on level ground, otherwise it WILL attempt to compensate.

cheers for that will pass on tomorrow
