Title: D2 Sidesteps
Post by: mike142sl on January 05, 2008, 18:50:10
Just bought some sidesteps for the TD5 - as requested by SWMBO !

Found that the mud flaps that come with them are hollow on the wheel side - is this normal?, as I was expecting them to be flat i.e. with a flat insert to fit after fitting the steps etc.

You mean they are concave? that probably makes them stronger and less likely to deflect at high speed.

No, they are shaped to fit around the steps themselves which leaves a hollow section on the wheel side. The wheel side edge of the mud flap is 'level' suggesting that there could be a flat section / cap that fits within it to prevent mud etc getting into the flap.
