how many 6x6 series 3,s were built? i,ve found one in a hedge rusting away and wonder whether its worth restoring? :?

Very few... there were a couple of specialist companies which undertook the conversion.
Well worth restoring !

i have seen a true 6x6 series 3 once, and the rear axle was run from the PTO on the gearbox, which meant the rear axle could only be used when the transfer box was in low ratio, but i guess thats the time when you want 6x6
