Getting miffed now!

Stormin:
I some times get called out to work, late at night, or the early hours of the morning. A few months back I was returning home at around 3-30 am, driving SWMBO's Renault Scenic.  No other traffic about untill lights appeared behind rapidly catching up.  Turned out to be a police car and I got stopped.  The constable, (I'm being very polite here, though I have several other names for him), less than half my age and looking like he'd just left school, approached and demanded in a very superior voice, "Where do you think your going"?  I politely informed him I was going home and where I'd been.  "You can check with the gate house", said I and gave him the phone number. "I'll decide who to check with", said he. "Is this your car"?  "Yes and no" I replied.  "I bought it but it's registered in my partners name".  Giving him name, address etc.  Anyway, this little Adolf kept me waiting for 3/4 of an hour, while he sat in his car supposedly checking up on things. After that time he walked back to me, who by now was nearly falling asleep, and said curtly, "You can be off".  No apology or anything.  Got called out the other night and this time went in the 90.  Heading home at 2-30am and got pulled again by the same officer. Again, very abruptly,"Where're you going"?  I told him and where I'd been and asked if he remembered stopping me a few weeks previous.  He denied doing so even though I described the car etc.  Now that I do NOT believe.  This is not a town I live in.  No night life except for owl's and foxes. I recognised him so he must have remembered.  This time he only kept me half an hour.  I spoke to a policeman friend last night and he told me that he was just being officious.  He could have checked all details in five minutes.  If it happens again I'll get his name and number and the Chief Constable will be getting a letter.

NiceBlueWellies:
Were you wearing a black and white stripped top?

Manicminer:
Get the Duty Sergeant.
I have done so myself after being stopped 1 - 2 times a week by the same one.
He got moved.

Colin 009:
This copper is just being an ass, he probaly stops everyone at that time of night.

Or he's a chickin and uses the fact he stop you to get out of doing real police work.

Andy.:
Maybe he's lonely

I would certainly complain if it happens again.
