Frank I know you weren't too serious, nor was I :-)

David, if I have to tell you what better things there are to spend your money on I don't think I'll even try - would hate to blow open that sheltered life of yours ;-)

I did look at R50 MUD when  first bought the 90 but there were things I wanted to by for the 90 then and I decided that the £250 they wanted was better spent on parts with a real use (if you see what I mean). Since then someone has bought it so  couldn't get it now if I wanted. Could still have J,K,L or P50 MUD but I am still not convinced.

On the other hand if I did I could join the shiny blue crew, the 50ths and this group too, bet that would put the cat among the pigeons :-D

Hmmm..... thought as much as I was reading the DVLA site last night.

So anything I got would have to start with a K then  :?: or lower.

Have seen one but with mounting debts else where may have to give in to sensible thinking, although the [golly it is shiny isn't] It factor could kick in

(moderate if you see fit)

Garry,

I know what you mean about the "ES" club and the MUD posse, but you have to realise that when LR decided to build the Disco II, they thought "Aha, how can we get rid of these remaining DI's", some wag said "let's paint them Atlantis Blue and flog them off as Special Editions like all end of line things", makes sense doesn't it .....

Andy, there's loads of 'MUD's on www.newreg.com, but again as I stated (& other members) the price is dearer than the DVLA.

Sorry there's no 'K44 MUD', but most othre combinations.

Frankie; And I thought we were friends :?:

When I bought my plate, there was 'S50 MUD' for sale, it was on the list anyway, but I went with the initals.

Have seen 'S50 BTM' for sale on 'newreg' :)

Does indeed make sense Frank but it's not quite correct. They weren't painted atlantic blue and sold off as 50th's (50th's were earlier than that). They actually painted them green or silver, chucked on a pile of extras for virtually nothing 'cos they had them stuck in the warehouse and they weren't selling (sidesteps, soft A bars, roof ladders etc) and called them the 'Safari' special editon. I know cos I have one of them too ;-)

Of course you've got the money Andy, after all your Discovery's got central heating - so a number plate should be no problem.

Just send Jayne out to work more & check the local chimney sweeps to see if they want any young apprentices :D

:D Hi just joined as a result of your recruiting drive on LRUK Forums!
I own P12 MUD and P13 MUD - 12 is on a 1996 Defender 90 County Hard top converted to a stationwagon and 13 is on a Range Rover TD6SE. Both get very dirty and play hard off road (yes even the Rangie which got mud in it's wheelarches when it was 3 weeks old)

Hi Tim, I'm not a member of this 'grubby bunch', but I think it was me who put your photo on here after seeing it on LRUK in the picture contest.

Welcome aboard!

Hi Dave

The wheel carrier's a Mantec one. Really solid, but at a price - cost me about £185 at the LRO show in Peterborough last year. Took about 60 minutes to fit it, after swapping the drop down tailgate to side mounted hinges...

If I get the swap done in time, there'll be some good photos of the plate with plenty of whitworth MUD around it!!!

Cheers
