If I won some and could not go, why not flog them and offer the money to the charity?
What is wrong with people today???? P***es me off!!!!!!

I agree totaly with that sentiment but at the end of the day all you have is the word of the seller that ticket cost or % of cost will go to charity.
Its unfortunate that people selling these tickets are asking in some cases up to £800 when basicly they paid £1.50 to send a text.
I know it may sound like I have little faith in the people selling the tickets but basicly there will be little if anything from £800 the sellers are asking going to the actual charity
landyman Ash:
I think its a case of £800 squid in there pocket.
Ebay should just of kicked them off staright away.
I put a train ticket on there once (dont ask... I was a student...) and they kicked me off as its "non transferable".
Well so are these????
Could this be a publiscity stunt gone wrong??? I love Ebay but this has really shown them in a bad light.

I doubt it... they are always flooded with concert tickets... one of the many reasons Glastonbury had to make them photo ID only.
I think eBay have acted well in this.... they took an official line initially which left them within the law... then, based on feedback from its members, made the decision to pull the auctions.
It's a tough balance to maintain....
landyman Ash:
Yes I agree BUT this a gig for a country where pennies go a long way. There is one thing selling a ticket where a profitable company is involved and a WHOLE new thing where a charity is involved.
In my opinon they are not even similar
muddyweb:
When I said they were always flooded with concert tickets, I was including charity concerts... there were a few on there for the last big charity event.
eBay have a number of responsibilities to maintain.. to their members, to their legal team and to their shareholders.
There are millions of auctions on eBay, and someone has to make a judgement about which are allowable and which aren't
It is easy to sit back and say what should and shouldn't be allowed from a distance, but the issues are inevitably more complex.... sounds similar to another recent discussion in the bar :?
