Transfer boxes- diesel and petrol???

Just bought a 300tdi auto box with a manual diff lock.

I was running a V8 auto with a viscous lock.

Can the trasnfer boxes on these ZFs be changed??  

Basically are the TDi ones any different ratio to the petrol trasnfer boxes.  I know the gear boxes are but dont know about the transfer boxes?
