Warn winch

davidlandy:
Got problems with my once trusty warn 9.5ti winch

it spools the rope out with no problems but just wont spool in. All that happens is a clicking from the solenoids. I took it all apart a few weeks ago and it worked after that but its just packed in again.

Do I need to replace these ? and if so where do I get the spares I need?

or is there a repair I can do?

ibexman:
sounds like the solenoids have packed up.
i replaced mine with an albright from david bowyer - cheaper and better that warn ones

landyman Ash:
Yeah go with the ALBRIGHT solenoid.  Its water proof and once fitted is forgotten.  It contains both solenoids so you will stop any future problems.

I got mine from PG Winches as they were cheaper than David bowyer but I think he's put his price down since then.

EvilEd:
To prove the solenoids, you could swap the output (Solenoid to winch) feeds and then it should only spool in. (And drive you nuts because the switched are all the wrong way round)

turtle:
When my winch packed up it was the bushes that were covered in crap, it just made a clicking noise from the Solenoid. wouldn't spoil in or out.

Check your bushes and clean with fresh water.
