Just ordered my new Old Man Emu shocks

Budgie:
It's much easier, with gas shocks like OME, to remove the turrets as the shocks will fully extend naturally and it's easier to compress them using the turret than trying to compress them from the bottom to get the spring back over them. You may also need to hold them up slightly to be able to get the lower bush, washer and nut on.

If you do snap a turret ring bolt then remove the turret, remove the spring, replace the turret ring, refit the spring and then lower the shocker and turret into place.
