Electric Fan, one or two?

<< < (2/2)

ChrisW:
Of the odd couple of time's I've thought about swapping the viscous for an electric fan I have thought of whether its worth putting a smaller electric fan behind the intercooler together with a larger one behind the main radiator...

Im juts putting a 300tdi in my hybrid and was thinking exactly the same.  One biog one for the rad and a little one for the intercooler.

If I do it I'll be posting all the pics on MC anyway.

chris9119:
I have both on mine, the viscous one for normal driving and a twin Audi (high speed and low speed) unit for towing and hot days.

The electric is not auto, just switched as and when.

landyman Ash:
Ooo thats a good idea.  I considered using the disco air con unit which would sit on the front nicely.

So is the viscous one not up to the job?  personally I'd bin it and free up 4 or more horses.
