Dr Neil:
you haven't said whether it's a petrol or diesel and engine size, also how old is the vehicle,if it's a 2 1/4 diesel i may now the location of one so let me know, regards Neil.....

Dr Neil:
has it got a seperate starter solenoid? if so if you bridge the two big wires together does the starter then operate,if it does then it's more likely to be the solenoid instead of the starter motor, hope this helps!

generation-x:
sorry neil
its a 2.25 petrol  T reg,
its the seperate solenoid on the bulk head as you can guess i dont no much about landys

Dr Neil:
has the battery got plenty of life in it,turn the headlights on and try starting it (if the lights go dim i would try jumpstartingit of another battery/car. if the lights stay bright look at the starter solenoid, when you turn the key to start is there any clicking noise or the starter trying to turn, if no try bridging the two main terminals( bolts with nuts on) together either with an old screwdriver and see if the starter then turns( there will be a few sparks) if it turns over then i would suspect the starter solenoid, if it doesn't then it sounds like the starter motor itself. hope this helps sort the problem. if not where abouts do you live as if it's not ar rom me i will be willing to give you a hand!! :)
