LDV Landy engine?

Working 3rd hand here, but been told that someone has an LDV/Freight rover, with a Land Rover engine in it. On about a G reg I think, does this sound like a 2.5 natural aspirated defender type engine here?

Van crackered but good engine, also anybody idea what box would it have in it, not able to see it yet, trying to sort it out over the weekend for a look

Same basic engine, as far as I'm aware.
Some ancillaries maybe differant.

Think the sump is differant - but may stand corrected :wink:

You're right. Sump and breathers are diffrent.

ok thanks, will have to have a good look at it, although not really looked at the defender engine either
