Replacing UJs

--- Quote from: "hobbit" ---It could be, I've heard of dual size uj's, but didn't think they would be fitted on these things though, like I say most of my work is with series ones and trucks, somebody know if this is so on the defenders?

There are a couple of different sizes, but they are different in the distance across the flats rather than in the diameter of the shells.

Aside from the problem of dropping a pin, you can also get them very stuck if they don't go in square.   Especially on a vice, as you push them in, the yoke has a tendency to twist a little, so the cap tries to go in at a slight angle and sticks.

--- Quote from: "Bob696" ---well after screwing up 1 UJ and probably another (good job paddocks have them on off at 4 for 3) I gave up and took the prop shaft to a garage (wimps are us, thats me)

Cheers for the help guys

Bob,

get yourself another set to 'keep on the shelf' as those from Paddocks dont seem to last very long - mine didnt - got the proper GKN ones and they have been much better.
