thermidorthelobster:
There is a cleaning kit available.  Mine consists of:
1) A spray of solvent to clean it
2) Another spray of oil to recharge it
3) A piece of paper, which tells me to brush it to get the clods out, then spray on the solvent, then soak it water in a bowl, rinse it, dry it, re-oil it and reinstall it.

The solvent isn't giving up any information as to its constitution.

I don't know whether K&N would approve but I've been cleaning mine for over 10 years now by washing it with washing-up liquid, letting it dry and re-oiling it with WD40.

Disco Inferno:
rimmer bros generally have large tins of solvent and oil on sale on their stand at shows. Its a lot cheaper than buying the kits

strapping young lad:
rimmer sell them online too

but you have to ask for the separate items and not the kit.

i got mine this way. (which is now surplus to requirements as im on the hunt for an itg instead
