Axle breathers info required

(1/2) > >>

wizard:
As you may or may not know, i make sets of axle and gearbox breather kits for Land Rovers, now i want to make some kits up for the Jeepers out there.
What i need to know is the thread size on the original axle (and gearbox if fitted) breathers.
I will offer a FREE kit in return for this info, and will require a few piccies for our web site when the kit has been installed.

So if you have a Cherokee or Wrangler and fancy a set of breathers.......

Hi, only just seen this.... I'll see if I can find out for you.

Will also try to find out if all the different axles have the same fitting.

If I remember right (I looked into this a while back and still havn't fitted my safari) the Transfer case breather is the problem as it is attached to the top of the case itself rather than a tube. I know there's a write up about it somewhere so I'll try to find that too. (Scratch that, found it here http://www.darksiderz.co.uk/technical/breather/index.htm)

Let me know exactly what you need, but be aware that there are loads of different setups depending on what year and what model you have.
CJ - Civilian Jeep
DJ - Dispatch Jeep
MJ - Comanche
SJ - Wagoneer
YJ - 1987-95 Wrangler
TJ - 1997 and current Wrangler
XJ - Cherokee
ZJ - Grand Cherokee (up to 1998)
WJ - Grand Cherokee (1999 on)
KJ - New Cherokee/Liberty

You'll probably get more info if you post this on somewhere like J33p.org (Free)
