Looking for a series 2 or 3
JD LWB:
Hi all
After coming to Driffield with me, my cousin (bradshaw on Mud Club) is looking to get into Land Rovers.
He would like a 90, but knows he's likely to get nothing more than a pile of scrap for what he can afford.
So, we're looking for a Series Landy for him.
Preferably a SWB diesel (he's going to run it around the farm for a couple of years before he passes his test (he's 14) and would want to run it on the red diesel.
His budget isn't finalised yet, but I know it's going to be under £1000.
It doesn't need to be in MOT'd condition as it is going to be a project for him, but he wants something he can drive (not on the road) soon after getting it without doing any major work. However, being on a farm, we have access to all sorts of equipment (welders etc).
If any of you can point us in the right direction and/or give any advice about looking or buying, it would be greatly appreciated. :D
Thanks
P.S. we're on the High Peak/Manchester border.

How about this one, It's not diesel but it is a good price.

JD LWB:
looks good, but it's a bit too far away.
JD LWB:
I've had a word with him, his budget is a bit less than I thought.
He can afford to spend upto a max of about £700.
We have access to a tilting bed trailer with a winch, so a non-runner is no problem.

It's a shame you were'nt in Blackpool a month ago !!
I picked up my series 2 for......... £400. :P
The guy i bought it off just wanted to get rid.
I stumbled across it by accident just sitting in the back yard of the guys house with a tiny For Sale sign in it.
It had no tax or MOT so was a bit of a gamble on my part.
I had her M.O.T'd last week and she only failed on 7 things. :D
3 of them being the lights, 1 was the wiper blade, 2 were spots of welding on the footwells and the 7th was the vacum on the brakes.
Not that im trying to brag. im just really pleased.
I suppose the moral of my story is that there are bargains out there to be had !!
Just keep your ears to the ground and your eyes open.
Good luck with the searching and i hope you find something soon !
