Side light

Has anyone come across the problem where the side light does not work.
Check the bulb thats ok even changed the bulb, check the wiring loom to bulb and thats runing ok, live and earth check out ok. the bulb does work if you hit it comes on then goes off but has now packed altogether now.
There is a feed out of the bulb holder but could that have a fault inside and is not shown because it getting moved around to check out but once it goes back after sometime it all packs up.
The main problem is buying a newer land rover i should have known that the elec" would have been a problem as from 1948 they must of left the elec" problems in the trucks to confuse as. but still love them.

Sometimes the spring at the back of the contact gets weak?

Sounds like a unit replacement would be advisable not too expensive, I'm presuming its either an indiactor or front side light

Try some Emery paper inside the holder where the bulb sites, it could just be a bad earth from bulb to bulb holder. :?

front side light.
It looks like a new holder unit then for me.

 try that and no luck.
