Frustrating afternoon

so, I had the day off yesterday and as it was such nice weather, I decided to do some bits and bobs on the disco.

Having just received my replacement springs, I decided to sort out my door locks.

I followed the instructions, took off the door inner, the plastic sheet etc.  As its the front doors, I followed the instructions to raise the window frame to get at the lock, the haynes then tells me I have to remove the lock servos and the window mechanisms, at that point I gave up, knowing I'd do more damage than good, fortunately I managed to get it all back together without too many bits left over.....  What a coward ay?  I guess I will have to add it to my list of things to get done by a pro when it goes in for a service next time.



I did fit a new mud club splat to my windscreen so now I can be recognised as a member from either end.

Nah - go for it.  I'm a true blue Haynes one spanner man yet I 've just done the front passenger door lock - window out and everything.

It is possible - and not really as difficult as it sounds.

BTW - my replacement lock came from a complete door from a scrapper.  Frames a bit bent but the glass is ok (just in case you happen to damage yours!!)
