Inventions....
Bush Tucker Man:
A new TV series starts tonight that could show promise.
'Inventions That Changed The World', presented by Jeremy Clarkson.
It looks as though there could be some interesting aspects to it. Railways, the petrol & diesel engines. flight.
Tonight he's looking at firearms, and we all know how they changed the world.
The 'blurb' says he'll be testing a bullet-proof vest, whether that means he's wearing it, or shooting at it I don't know.
If he's wearing it, who'll be pulling the trigger?
Feminists?
Caravanners?
A vauxhall director? (remember his test of the original Vectra :) )
Or someone from Ford, over his 'grovelling' attitude in trying to get a new GT40 allocated?
It should go well, if his excellent programme on the worlds greatest engineer ever; Brunel, was anything to go by.
Is he trying to become the next Fred Dibnah though?
On which note, did anyone see his superb programme about sinking a mine-shaft in his own garden last weeK?
Wonder if the Council will let him go ahead with it?
Shame if they don't.
Moose:
Good programme,
I like his sense of humour.
a wicked electronic gun at the end
Bush Tucker Man:
Caught a few glimpses at work & have watched the first 30minutes when I got home. That was after watching 'Dotors & Nurses' (the new BBC comedy) from Tuesday night - very good, & an excellent leading man
I knew about a fair bit of the progress that took place due to firearms manufacturing, but a couple had escaped me...until now.

And that's what makes a good programme!
Looks like I'm going to have to set the vcr timer, sounds too good to miss. LMFAO @ the Vectra slot. "Oh, and there's a coat hanger!"
A great tv moment.
Trouble is, Robbie Coltraine did what sounds like the same sort of thing a few years back. I liked that and his love of machines (being an ex-engineer) was obvious.[/quote]
