1994M Toyota Landcruiser 12v 4.2 turbo diesel automatic
« on: August 06, 2016, 19:43:28 »
For sale is my trusty 1994 UK-spec 80 series Toyota Landcruiser 12v 4.2 turbo diesel automatic. The 12v 80 series is not festooned with ECUs that don't like water or dust. It even has a mechanical fuel pump and after owning several Landrovers that let me down I finally gave in and brought a Toyota. It is true what people say in they are better made and are far more reliable. However, the kids are growing up and I now need the space so my 'round the world' overlander has to make way for an estate car. It has just been through an MOT and has enjoyed lots of TLC over the past 2.5 years of my ownership. It that has done several camping trips and took me to Le Mans last July without a hiccup. I have several spares (genuine Toyota alloys, 285 Maxxis mud tyres, alternator, water pump, wheel bearings, bushes etc) and a barely used roof tent which are available separately by negotiation.

Please note, it is a 22 year old vehicle and has a couple of the common Landcruiser issues: The leather interior is in good condition but the drivers seat has two ripped seams. The paintwork would benefit from being professionally mopped. The electric windows are slow as the window rubber seals need replacing (£80). The twin wheel carriers have not been fitted to the bumper as the bearings were lost in shipping and I've not got round to sourcing some replacements.

285/75/16 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres on black powder coated Toyota alloys
285/75/16 Maxxis Bighorn mud spare on a genuine silver Toyota alloy
4x4 Specialist front bumper with protection bars and winch mount (£1500) imported from Poland
Rear bumper with double swing away wheel carriers (£800) imported from Switzerland
3" Iron Man shock absorbers and springs
Old Man Emu steering damper
Safari snorkel raised air intake
Full length expedition roof rack
LED light bar and rear work light on roof rack connected to main beam and reverse light
HID headlights with adjustable beam height from dash
Pioneer CD player and CB radio w/Sirius aerial
Two recent Exide batteries
Radiator, starter motor & alternator less 2yrs old
Front brake discs and pads replaced with higher performance parts
Rear brake discs, pads and shoes replaced for MOT
Front axle rebuild with both CV joints stripped and rebuilt with new seals, king pin bearings replaced
Front and rear diff locks have been rebuilt and work fine
Centre diff lock engages automatically in low-range
Both prop shafts rebuilt with new UJs
Cam belt and big-end bearings replaced within last 7,000 miles
Always serviced with quality filters, oils & fluids
Leather rear seats and belts have been removed to give more boot space and cheaper insurance but will be included
Gearbox is smooth & overdrive works fine
Chassis and axles cleaned and sprayed before every winter

Good 80 series Landcruisers seem to be very difficult to price with expedition-ready vehicles priced in the stratosphere. I am going to let this find its own market value on eBay (item 302034412625).

Cheers.
Paul.
