Ok been a while since I posted on here but since I was unfortunate enough not to get my defender or series in time for the end and prices boombed I was wandering how much of a discovery u could use to build a defender like axles etc cheers ve cheaper these days to build one

No reason why you couldn't either shorten a Disco chassis, or just build a 100" Defender (LR built a few....)

Im just thinking it may be more cost effective now as I know I can get disco cheap an a conversion may be a better option now

Ok I have managed to find a disco that is doomed for the scrappy however the man I am getting it off saud I can have whatever I want from it but the body is scrap, so for a conversion I gonna take chassis axles and engine but he can only let me take what I want on the day salvage comes as he wont be around before so if anyone can give advise whats the quickest way to remove the body off the chassis, and where are the body mounts bilts cheers guys, my defender project is getting close

ok, there are 10 body mounts, 2 at the end of each sill, one in each corner of the engine bay and 2 at the ends of each axle.
There are 4 body tie-downs for each seatbelt anchorage through the floor.
There's some wiring and the duel filler to deal with
there's the radiator, gearsticks and breathers
The air cleaner and engine ancilliaries that are mounted on the wings
The brake and fuel pipes
Earht and battery cables plus any accessories that were fitted
Bumpers
Steering column (keep that)
EFU wiring loom is appropriate
Don't, whatever you do put any cuts in the chassis! if you have to repair of modify it you can end up with a Q plate and SVA test. That should include if you bobtail it.
