Big probs... Loss of drive

Range Rover Blues:
Ever get it finished?

hrh_dave:
Had it back on the road a week later... Recon box from a company in Brum as they were the cheapest on the block for one, new input gear and bearings... Just been back in to the input gear cover to replace gaskets and all seems okay.... Now just to get some UJ's ordered as the front prop is rattling... there's never much rest from the witch wanting something...

I know that feeling

Range Rover Ron:
Same problem on my Defender last year, it was the High/Low/Diff lock selector gear stick on the transfer box.
The arm had snapped.
Take off the rubber gear stick cover and have a look at the linkage.
My guess is you may find the arm broken.
A new arm is very cheap to buy and the job is quite easy, you just unbolt the six 10mm bolt heads (M6 thread) on the assembly and replace the link.
Mine snapped when I was on the top of the Wicklow Mountains, I jammed a piece of gaffa tape in to keep the selector engaged. If you don't jam it in as soon as you drive the link will jump out.
