Big probs... Loss of drive

Just lost complete traction... was pulling out of a junction and at first I thought it had slipped out of high, but no tried to get it to move in high low and diff lock, nothing... Removed the rear prop and repeated high low diff still nothing... is it worth replacing the rear prop and removing the front?

its a 300tdi 90.


Any thoughts on whats gone wrong and what to test.. much appreciated.

Could it be the transfer box input shaft has lost its splines Dave, just wondering if its one of the early ones that didn't have the shaft cross drilled so no lube on the splines.

I hope its something easier though

Second vote for the transfer input stripping itself.  Would be surprised if swapping prop would work as that is effectively what you did putting the centre lock in. Chance to get a disco one though and up the gearing a bit.

The votes at the moment are aiming in the region of input gear / shaft... Motor is still on the verge outside the house... Going to try and get out later and make some space in the shed, then borrow a tractor to push it in...
