DEFRA CASUALTY
muddyweb:
I wondered if that was what you meant.
To the best of my knowledge, those are proposals and are not yet implemented.
Sounds like someone has either misunderstood things, or is just using it as a bit of propaganda.

Hi Tim, im not haveing a go, but ive heard of events up and down the country recently being cancelled due to this legislation from defra. Which was pushed through a month or two ago without any consultation with third partys i.e the offroad motorsport fraternity. It sounds like they just told the Farming community this is what is going to happen, therefore the farmers hands were tied, well they dont want to lose out subsidy pay now do they....

I'm with Tim. DEFRA themselves have said everyone has got the wrong end of the stick. And reading the legislation they are right. Can't see why events are being cancelled. Prehaps farmers and organisers ought to be ringing DEFRA and checking.

Perhaps someone could contact this guy and ask him what he's playing at? Where he got my email from I don't know
Dear Off-Roader,
I would like to introduce my company, <snip>, to you.
We are a small specialist off-road organisation offering a variety of 4x4 events aimed at owner drivers of mostly newer vehicles. We cater for any make of 4x4 vehicle and offer events from half day 'taster' sessions for novice drivers, up to 2 - 4 day events for more experienced off-road drivers. When planning trips, we try to bring together similar levels of off-road driving abilities so that everyone can gain a similar positive experience.
We offer greenlaning trips as well as events on private land and often we hire out dedicated off-road sites.
If you have time, please take a look at our website, <snip>, where you can see forthcoming events and past events, to get a feel for the sort of things we offer.
You will automatically be informed of any future news and events via email. If you wish to be taken off our mailing list, please reply to this email.
Thanks for your time.
Kind regards
Mike

I'm, personally, not interested in "off road" or "play pits". Tazman has a bash now and again but I'm more Green Lane (some of those are a bit testing!). Let's see how this guy does with DEFRA vs farmers
Stormin:
Just been doing a little checking. On a DEFRA site I went onto Single Payment Policies, then News Releases. From there to Guidance on Non-Agricultural use.
Under Activities that are inconsistent with the land being concidered as remaining in agricultural use, you will find :- ALL MOTOR SPORTS.
That sounds to me as no proposal. Take a look yourselves. We've just had to cancel a Tyro trial up here.
