how much should you pay a manchanic for 300tdi timing belt change ?

If you supply all the bits then you'll be look at around £100-£150 for the labour, maybe a little more if you want the tensioners changed as well.
Always worth shopping around though.  :wink:

TDi's should always have the kit replaced - as opposed to just the belt - there being issues with the crank sprocket that was fitted originally. The 300TDi engine is easier than the 200, as there's no real interference with the cooling system. A couple of hours to do the job, so not more than £100 labour + parts, which are about the same price.
