Boot floor

I have seen some vids and pics on this sooooo can the boot floor be removed and a new one fitted as one piece can it be riveted or does it have to be welded in place
any tips would be great guy's

You will have to cut it out and weld in a new one. No rivets unfortunately.

Hi Paul, I have just finished fitting the second boot floor to my 200 disco. The first was welded in some six years ago by a local garage, unfortunately it was welded to the existing sides which rotted off the wheel arches. I have made up new sides welded to the wheel arches but fitted the floor with captivated nuts and bolts.  A friend took advice from his local MOT tester and did rivet his in. We have fitted a wooden floor in a 300 van which also passes the MOT. Parts for repair can be sourced from YRM.

Thanks guys mine isnt to to bad and the inner wheel arches are not that bad, so I think a new floor panel will do as a unit but not sure if it has to be welded or can be bolted in place as for the MOT or even rivited in place just wondered

Range Rover Blues:
The original RRC on which the Disco is based di have an ally floor riveted in.  One peice of continuous improvement that did not actually improve things.

However, when you replace the floor check that it still rests on the crossmemebers and they in turn rest on the chassis brackets.  on older RRC these are adjustable, because the floor could be taken out............
