Renault Laguna Problems
« on: April 12, 2012, 11:50:07 »
Just bought the wife a 2002 Laguna 1.6 that is having some issues at idle.

Basically, it runs great at speed, however when idling it sounds like it is missing on 1 or more cylinders, and seems to knock a bit.

I have changed the plugs, coil packs, and even tried a new set of injectors, but to no avail.

Timing is correct from what I can tell, and there does not appear to be any issues with the head.

The plugs are always black with soot, as if it is over fueling, and it stinks of petrol when first started.

I have read the fault codes from the ecu ( which only come on occasionally, and not all the time) and all that tells me is there is either a single / multiple cylinder misfire.

Has anyone experienced similar or have any ideas what to try next (apart from a match ;) )
