Saffy:
What do you use? I'm sick of the crappy 'laser' brand chain type I have and that's why it's now laying on top of a neighbours garage about 100foot from where I last used it.

Big G:

I use the Draper self grip one. Its like a pair of mole grips but with C shape jaws. Think you can get a pair for just over twelve quid. My mate has a set in his garage that he uses all the time and they have lasted well.

Saffy:
These?

is swearing part of using them? as I want swear free filter removal... I can live with the dribble of oil down arm but it's the lack of room to put torque on removing a stubborn filter that was only put on buy hand 4000miles previous that I want to overcome. Might be worth a punt anyway if no one else comes up with a gucci suggestion.

Frankie-Boy:

My filters generally come off quite easily on the disco but a little tip for avoiding the dribble is once you manage get it started, undo it inside a carrier bag or other plastic bag, then you can dispose of the whole thing and stay clean once you've spun it right off.

lambert:
So far with my 90 I have yet to run out a of grip with my hand which is fine but it is a damn tight fit to get the rest of my forearm past the steering . You do oil up the seal r before you put the new filter on don't you?. Beyond that the ones I have used have all tended towards being poor, even the pro stuff is not that good.
