NATO Tow Hitch

Moneypit:
Hi All,

Been a very long time since I was last on here, but I would appreciate some advice.

I have a 2001 Discovery 2 with a genuine Land Rover tow bar.

I have been asked to tow a sanky cookset, so need to figure out the easiest and cheapest of fitting a NATO hitch at the best height.

Any advice appreciated.

Dirt-Devil:
Hi there, the easiest way would be to put a heavy duty rear bumper on and mount the nato on that for the best ride hight but that is looking into the

I have a Dixon Bate sliding plate on mine so I can mount the hitch as high as possible.

Search around, Devon 4x4 is great stuff, but very expensive!

The Cookset towing eye will be virtually level with your rear bumper, so I suggest you see the trailer or measure it up exactly before spending your cash too.

Moneypit:
Thanks guys, I've been asked to do this as a favour so it's a one time tow to collect the trailer, I have advised them to get the trailer converted to 50mm ball for future use.

Because the car is post 1998, any towing bracket needs to be type approved so I think that rules out Devon 4x4, but I will check.
