Aux fusebox
john656:
Hi all,
Just a quick one. Looking to clean up my engine bay with the mound of wires that have accumulated over time as I've slowly added bits to the point now it just looks a mess and a bodge.

I was looking at mounting one of these under the bonnet somewhere towards the OSR (brake servo area), its out the way and all of my +ve's come back to the battery. I know under the bonnet isn't ideal but I really can't be bothered to mess about inside and all of my connections under there at the moment seem to be ok. Someone else must have done this already, any other/better idea.
Regards
John

The link doesn't work for me, but you're about 2 steps ahead of me with the same problem.
If you don't wade up the the screen then any decnet fusebox should be ok, a bit of petrol jelly will stop corrosion on the blades and where possible I use heat-shrink to insulate and reinforce cables with either soldered or heavily crimped terminals, I bought a proper crimp tool.

You could get something like this:
Then mount it inside either an airtight "lock and seal" lunch box style container or an IP65 rated box with some cable glands fitted

A few extra pence, but will give it a lot more protection.
Dr Evil:
This is the one I bought along with the relay box.

I fitted a Blue Sea ST 5025 6 way distribution box. This has a neg connection as well.
like this one
6mm 50A fused cable going back to aux battery - devices then run to this fitted under dash.
