Lifted Freelanders

(1/1)

Gordo:
I know that on the old Freelander Club forum there were a few people who had put lift-kits on their Freelanders. I've put a 2" lift on mine, and I'm having a few problems and was wondering if others had experienced the same things?

My Freelander is getting through CV gaiters, and the odd drive-shaft, which my mechanic has put down to the "extreme" angle they're working act owing to the lift.

Do I keep the lift or return it to standard?

mudboy:
not having much experience with freelanders but can you net uprate cv and prop for wider angles etc

V8MoneyPit:
Hi Gordo

We had ours lifted by 2" or so. The CV's were at quite an angle, but didn't have any trouble in the time we had it. I'm guessing it was lifted a couple of years before Sarah part ex'd it for a bling bling L200 double cab.

However, I had heard of other people getting through CV boots, but not CV's themselves.

Gordo:
Turns out it would have been just the boot, but the assembly was seized and couldn't be taken apart to change the boot.  :undecided:
