Engine Number on Prima Perkins?

Hi,
     I have just bought a Series 3 with a prima conversion, but the engine number isn't on the paper work, I have done a bit of research and found out where it should be but it seems to short, was expecting something a kin to a Vin number, The number I have found is only 6 digits. The insurance company is asking for it and then I can also get the V5 updated, any help appreciated, thanks
