panhard bushes - how long do yours last?
Saffy:
It's been just over 2 years but only 10k miles since this thread ...

Vast Majority is road mileage but a fair few weekly miles on pot holed tracks as well as the odd greenlane outing.
Strangely didn't get the death wobble this time but the bushes on the steering box end of the panhard are shot worse than I have ever seen them go before. These are those blue polybush ones as per that thread.
I was expecting a little more life than 10k for my

I have the blue PolyBush ones and I was thinking I should check them. I am beginning to think they are shot and that's after only 10k miles or so. I had the same type on my 110 for years and they were fine though.
Sabo:
Hi
I've had Red polybushes on my 110 for 10 years, still OK and it's 2" lifted. Do road + greenlaning and a bit of offroading on a farm where I do bits, say it must be 30K. The only place where I think mine are going is the 2 arms conecting to the rear axle so I've got a spare set ready.

Saffy:
Had a chance to remove the panhard couple days ago and replace it with a spare that's already fitted with red poly which will do until I order some superpro's (that's what is fitted to disco).
Seems I was too hasty in blaming the blue poly as that part of bush seems in good order. The wear and movement was actually thinning and shouldering of the 8.8HT bolt and the metal centre bush. Not sure what caused which part to wear first. I think I would have noticed major wear on the bolt last time I fitted but can't say for sure.
Anyway something to look out for in future and possible good practice to replace the bolt fixings as matter of routine along with the bushes or at least give them a good examination.
wizard:
I replaced mine about 2 weeks ago, and while trying to sort out the dreaded death wobble have noticed there is quite a bit of movement in them.
Unfortunatly I fitted Britpart bushes which i usually try and stear clear of.
I'll get some poly bushes and fit them today or tomorrow.
