Manicminer:
Snowed a bit on the tops last night. Cold too. Make sure you have warm bedding.

Disco Matt:
Not sure my approach to camping is quite the same:

Taken during a test in the garden. As this is a popup tent I can go from opening the car door to putting the sleeping bag on the bed in about 5mins, taking it down is similarly rapid!

Drift:
If your humping it on your back you need it light and small

There is a nice campsite on the A5 at Capel Curig its basic but has a shower block, its near the Bryn Glo cafe and bed and breakfast, see the google link

Disco Matt:
The actual tent can be carried on your back coracle-style. It turns into a roughly 1.5m across disk in its bag. Snag is, the lining, camp bed, sleeping bag and pillows also require carrying...

I might look up those bivvy bags providing they're not too expensive - strikes me as the sort of thing which would be a smart move to own as well as a full tent.

Problem is - a lot of wildcampers just leave their litter behind.

And the occasional crappy yellow Fiat cinquecento in the lake
