Turbo whistle

<< < (2/2)

Range Rover Blues:
I filled the bottom of the comnpressor housing with WD40 and used a toothbrush to clean the oikly gunk off the vanes 'till I could see shiny metal in there, then I soak up the poo with a rag and let it dry out.  Since doing it the car did seem a tiny bit better to drive but the turbo was noisier at full boost (it's tweaked).  I recon the extra weight of the crud makes it harder for the turbo to spin up and makes the vanes less efficient hence less boost.

But it does whistle a bit.
