I use stainless steel lashing rings from yacht chandlers. Like these:

There are various sizes available.

thanks ! very usefull , i just need to find something solid to bolt on to... i see at the back there are the old rear seatbelt points - what size is the tread on this ? can they be used ?

Where are you looking at using the cargo net - on the roof or on the floor?
The wood behind the headlining would work but you'd need to be careful of the weight put on this and any stress if the net is elasticated etc.
There is a section of channel on the underside of the roof which is ideal for fitting rivnuts to on either side of the roof which would get you over any issues above.
Cup hooks are about half inch hooks with a thread on the end you would screw into wood - they did the trick, it was the trim that failed!

IIRC, they are 7/16UNF

i have a blacked out boot so i put boards over the windows on the inside and use thease to fix things to.. elasticated net pockets etc you can glue a similer colour carpet to them to make them look good or just black paint. the interior panels near the uper boot windows have lots of space behined for wood to fix to. what i have done is zig zaged some elastic cord over the alpines and it gives a nice curved shape for storage of sleaping bags, roled up coats or mats etc.
I have also driled through the boot floor crosmeber and bolted in some of the anchors shown above. ideal for ratchet straping boxes of tools down
