white smoke for about ten minutes after starting

any ideas, truck is smoking really badly for around ten minutes and then clears. discovery 300tdi, no major loss of power that i can feel. and runs ok.

Range Rover Blues:
Is it using any water?  sounds a bit like something creeping in when you sghut down/overnight.

Does it do it on a hot start?
