Going Nowhere Fast

Bush Tucker Man:
I've come to the momentous decision I need to get fit again!

After almost 3years of not touching the bikes I had my Dyna-Tech out & on the 'Turbo-Trainer' out in the sun today.
They've just stood there since we moved, in fact moving houses is the most miles they've done in all that time.

When I was racing (circa 1993 - 1997), plus daily commuting, I thought nothing of knocking off a hilly 80mile ride. Then I gave up for a while.
I started again in 2002(?) after having reached almost 12 Stone , plus that fcat that Lance Armstrong could win the Tour de France multiple times after having overcome such strong odds (re; his Cancer)
I went for it 'big time'.
No chocolate, chips, fried food, cake!!
In under3 months I dropped from 12 Stone to 9 Stone & could practically sprint up hills like Holm-Moss

Now I need to do it again
Can I do it?

So tyres pumped up to 120psi, a proper pair of shorts & my Sidis on.
Oakleys onstand-by incase it got too bright in the garden.

A slow start, in bottom gear getting used to the resistance of the 'Turbo'.
Once I'd reached a cadence of about 90rpm, it wasn't too bad.
Some 'music of choice' on the tape player in the workshop & the door open.
I spent 45minutes pedalling away, just think I used to be able to get to the top-side of Leeds in that time before.

Will I continue to follow the path I've set off on again?
Time will tell

Bush Tucker Man:
And here's what I used to wear in those dim & distant racing days

I daren't try it on now

Manicminer:
Having spent 2 yrs on my behind operating machinery and no walking I too am thinking af getting a bike of sorts to get me out and about.
Thinking more of a mountain type and slower speeds myself.
Gone from 16st to 17 1/2st so need to do something.
I'm not planning on wearing anything like the above though.

Xtremeteam:
